UltraShipTMS Introduces TMS Software Made Mobile for more Strategic Supply Chain Management
March 20, 2013 – Fair Lawn, NJ – The acclaimed transportation software development minds at UltraShipTMS delivered a new mobile user interface for their transportation management system (TMS) solution. The new mobile user interface enables all the same proven functions and features of the UltraShipTMS desktop for portable, on-the-go use with the Apple iPad. Users of TMS software in logistics, supply chain management, dispatch and freight carrier organizations are no longer limited by the need to be at their desktop computers in order to plan, execute and measure real-time transportation management decisions. Nor are they faced with a choice between the feature rich functionalities afforded by the largest TMS providers and the high-touch support and training offered by more nimble boutique supply chain solution providers.
The UltraShipTMS iPad interface provides all the same functionality as its desktop counterpart, but optimized for mobile usability. With larger, more “finger-friendly” buttons, bars and navigation elements; collapsible filters and saved searches bars; the UltraShipTMS iPad interface is intuitive and uncluttered. Dynamic auto-scrolling makes moving through pages of shipment information simple. The robust reporting, analytics and business intelligence tools found in the desktop version have also been optimized for the mobile interface bringing the same impactful, easy-to-digest charts, graphs and other analytics renderings effortlessly to life. “Transportation management, and really, supply chain management overall has evolved from a tactical concern into a fully strategic role over the last 5 years,” says Ultra Logistics President, Nicholas Carretta. “As economic challenges have prompted companies to do more with fewer resources,” Carretta explains, “supply chain management has risen to the task, showing how cost savings, efficiency and improved customer service can be captured from more proactive supply chain management. Our iPad interface delivers on that promise. Whether it’s by permitting a transportation manager or dispatcher the ability to stay on top of shipments over their lunch hour or while traveling; or whether it’s by handing the executive stakeholders an attractively rendered business intelligence data in planning meetings and manipulating it to illustrate the executive’s ‘what if’ questions, this tool provides great flexibility to users.”
The UltraShipTMS iPad interface is available now for existing and new customers.
